Advent Holiday Craft Series day 12 - Chic Tags Christmas Lay Out

Welcome to day twelve of my holiday craft series. Today is Saturday and it is so cold here in Iowa as well in many other places in the United States. I have not desire to go outside even though it is pretty and bright sunny day. I have new book, new movie  and of course new craft.
Tonight we will be reading: Father Cat's Christmas Tree by Richard Scarry.

For the today's movie we will watch Home Alone written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus.

For the craft I created a lay out using the Good Tidings Christmas collection by Chic Tags. I am entering in their sketch challenge so this lay out  was created based on a very nice sketch by Ashley Horton for Chic Tags. I f you read my post from day 5 of the Advent Holiday Craft Series, you know how much I love this paper collection and all the things that I had to do to get it! (cuz it was sold out pretty much everywhere). Here is the sketch and below my creation, I hope you'll enjoy it!

We will be watching the Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation directed by Michael Feifer. I've never watched before, we like cats and dogs so I am sure both the book and the movie will be pretty cute.
For the craft I created a gift box using the Bo Bunny Elf Magic paper collection. I am not going to say it, I know that  you already know  that I love this collection. (there I said it) This box has a mail package like look. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Advent Holiday Craft Series Day 10 - Lawnscaping Challenge No. 71

Welcome to day ten of my Advent Holiday Craft Series, I am hoping that you find the time to do all the holiday tasks, like shopping, cooking and especially to share time with family. One way you could accomplish the last it is by reading every night as a family or playing board games even video games would be OK as long as it is with the family.

Tonight we will be reading, The Littlest Elf by Brandi Dougherty. A really cute story!

For the Movie we will be watching A Charlie Brown's Christmas:

For the craft, I created a couple of tags, one of them will hold a gift card so it is a tag and a gift card holder at the same time. They were super easy to make. I used the Peace Joy Love collection by Lawn Fawn. I was inspired by Lawnscaping Challenge 71. With this cute paper collection it was so easy to create and I just wanted to keep making tags and gift card holders, it is so exciting! I love this collection, it has bright bold colors and soft ones too, which fit perfectly my style. Anyway, here they are, I hope you'll enjoy them and good luck to me in this new challenge. (LOL)

Good morning everyone! I got good surprise, this morning I found out that I won the Impression Obsession Challenge. http://www.iostamps.com/ If you have not try impression Obsession stamps or dies yet, is never too late, I guarantee that you won't be disappointed because there all kinds of intricate designs that stamp and cut very cleanly, so your projects will look neat. Above is the link to Impression Obsession website check it out for shopping and inspiration also here is the link to my winner card: http://hlcriswell.blogspot.com/2013/11/advent-holiday-craft-series-day-one.html

For today's post which belong to Dec. 3rd (I did not post yesterday to much work for my college classes. I am exhausted) We read the book Bialosky's Christmas by Leslie McGuire, this book is dear to us. My boy named our puppy after this bear.
For the movie we watched another short episode type of movie: Tomas and Friends Holiday Express. This may seem a movie for younger kids, however, this is what my boy wanted to watch and after so many years of Thomas it is still fun and nostalgic to hear those tunes!
For the craft  I have a greeting card that also is a gift card holder so it severs two purposes. There will be one or two more gift card holders coming  because I will use them this season. Here is everything I hope you'll enjoy it!

Supplies:

Advent Holiday Craft Series Day 7: Mini Album plus book and movie series start today!

Hi, today all the family is exited, the countdown to Christmas started and I am going to share with you the children’s book we will be reading every day along with the movie we will be watching as a family. They are not in any particular number except for day one which we already chose because we think is the nicest most meaningful Christmas movie and book. But that is just our opinion; I am sure every family has different favorites.

For today We are reading a book that I considered really appropriate being from Iowa (I am not originally from Iowa though this is where home is so this is where the heart is) "The book is call Twelve Days Of Christmas in Iowa" Written and illustrated By Sue F. Cornelison.

For the Movie we are watching: Santa Buddies A Dysney Movie. My son loves it and I do too! We watch this movie any time of the year.

Last but not least I want to share with you a craft project that I created for day seven. I have to confess that this project is completely out of my comfort zone. For two reasons, one, I don't usually create mini albums. Two, my crafting style is bright and bold in colors, and more of whimsical instead of vintage. Maybe for some people that specialize in vintage this is not so vintage after all. However, I have to say that I had lots of fun creating this project and also it came very easy to me. It kind of reminded me of my childhood, I love the final product and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

I did create this mini album at my local craft store so I don't own hardly any of the dies that I used on it; the patterned papers are from the Christmas Emporium Collection by Graphic 45 (2011). It is an adorable collection, I felt in love with it! ( yes it is one of those that i have been hoarding) You may not be able to find this collection any more, but any Graphic 45 Christmas collection has this adorable, nostalgic feel, and a similar look, so you can customize the mini album to your desires.

I hope you'll enjoy everything from today's post and I'll see you tomorrow for day eight.

Advent Holiday Craft Series Day 6: Snow Day lay out

Have you ever hoarded papers pads or paper collections? I am sure the answer is yes! Unfortunately I had and I sometimes feel ashamed of it. This year with the Advent Holiday Craft series as I was looking through out my paper I decided that the best way to keep a paper collection forever is to scrap it on pictures you love, otherwise you will have the paper collection for ever but you won't enjoy them. So get them out and start crafting and enjoy them for years to come, and that is precisely what I am trying to do throughout this holiday craft series. I am trying to use new collections and some of the old collections that I have been hoarding. So for today I have quick layout with one of this collections. I hope that you'll enjoy it!

Supplies:
Pattern paper: Martha Stewart Holidays paper pad ( I think this pad is from 2011)
Card stock: Bazzil
Twine: Pea pod by The Twinery
Alpha Stickers: Velvet Alphabet
White gel pen: Signo by Uniball
Adhesive: Tombow Stamp Roller
